IDS – INDUSTRIAL DRONE SERVICES has been active in the renewable energy sector in Greece since 2011.

In 2019 we developed our aerial inspection services and since 2020 we deliver specialized Wind Turbine Blade inspections with the use of drones. Our equipment and our proprietary & innovative flight platform enables us to deliver fast, accurate and detailed inspections.

Our services provide comprehensive, fast and cost-efficient solutions for the inspection and identification of anomalies using A.I. software and Blade expert professionals.

AERIAL INSPECTION

IMAGE ACQUISITION

Our proprietary flight platform, specifically developed for Wind Turbine Blade inspection, enables our pilots to complete the flight mission in less than 40 minutes while collecting high quality data around all four sides of the blades.

IDS drone pilots are specialized and licenced for aerial works and can carry out any inspection fast, safely and effectively.

IMAGE ANALYSIS

IDS utilizes innovative platforms and A.I. software in order to locate cracks and damages fast and reliably while our blade experts analyse and categorize damages.

Our high definition cameras and our inspection cameras of 30x optical zoom guarantee that we locate and analyze even the smallest damages on every blade.

Our thermal inspection services analyse radiometric images for possible delamination, cracks and damages invisible to the naked eye.

REPORTING

Our workflow permits for exact measurement of damages from the root of the blade and delivery of reports that include:

✔ Estimation of the location and the size of the damage on the blade
✔ Visual and/or Thermal data of the damages
✔ Damage analysis and proposed remedy actions
✔ Severity Assessment

Thermal
Inspection

Blade thermography is mainy used to determine the extent of known damages or to locate not visible damages such as delamination and inner structure abnormalities.

Digital
surface model

Using photogrammetry software we construct 3d surface and terrain models.

Report

IDS offers actionable and detailed reports. Our reports can be adjusted to the client's templates or configurations and include detailed damage analysis.

IDS offers a wide range of services including pre-constuction survey, construction  monitoring and thermal & visual blade inspection.

We can assist our clients in making site reconnaissance by providing high definition point clouds, orthomosaics and digital surface models prior to the wind turbine installation.

Prior to commissioning we make full blade inspection with thermal and visual cameras creating baseline data as reference for future inspections.

After commissioning we can run preventive and emergency inspection for possible damages and failures on the blade.

    IDS utilizes drones made for industrial applications meeting the most demanding operational and safety criteria.

    Our drones have advanced obstacle avoidance sensors and support high-end remote controller and transmission system providing extra redudancy in adverse enviroments.

    With operational altitude ceiling of 3000 meters and operating temperature of -20° to 50°C we can provide services all year round and at any location.

  • Fast - Reliable - Automated


    The IDS team has developed a proprietary platform for the automatic inspection of Wind Turbine Blades offering fast and reliable image acquisition. Our goal is to reduce the inspection runtime to less than 40 minutes.

    We use A.I. assisted platforms to locate and analyse the damages as well as the IDS reporting system where the results are presented in a detailed and compact interface.

    We use photogrammetry software (ex. Pix4d, Agisoft) to create orthomosaics, 3d models and digital surface models of the area of interest.

  • Inspection - Grade


    Our inspection-grade cameras and equipment reach high standards of efficiency and quality.

    Our versatile platform permits to mount two cameras simultaneously and with the use of the upward gimbal we can inspect assets from every possible angle.

    IDS has high definition optical cameras of 20MP, radiometric thermal camera with sensor of 640*512PX and 30x Optical Zoom Camera.
